Beta Please note that the feature is in beta, and that it is still undergoing testing before its general availability.
Simplified Pipeline Builder Beta Capabilities:
- Create a two-step, triggered Quickbase pipeline using beginner-relevant Record category steps. This includes most of the Quickbase category called ‘Records’ of triggers, action, and query steps but not fetch a linked record, look up a record, nor a pipeline that starts with a search query or has loops.
- Participants in the earlier webhooks & clock private beta will be supported to build a combo pipeline using Quickbase, Webhooks and/or Clock.
- Move, insert, and duplicate up to 30 steps (Duplicate doesn't prevent you from creating a 31st step, but it's not supported in this beta).
- Work in the new simplified interface with improved layout, field labels, placeholder text, and help text.
- Edit the description in pipeline builder.
- Use existing accounts with tokens but Connect/Re-connect won’t be available under Account in the drop-down.
- Avoid switching to old builder using the New Style button because you most likely won't be able to toggle back to New Style.
- Work in a non-code mode, which is related to the exclusion of writing Jinja expressions, an advanced pipeline building experience.
- Select source table and fields but there is no pipeline trigger step filtering (conditions) nor conditional branches outside of steps.
IF Refresh Schema button is used, also refresh page. IF you use Refresh Schema, proceed to refresh the page and your pipeline build will see refreshed tables & fields.
Supported & Unsupported Beta QuickBase Pipelines
The Quickbase Record category steps, that are most beginner-relevant, are available in this beta to build pipelines. The following are not available in this beta.
Note: You can build a pipeline that has more than two steps, but it’s not supported at this time.
Webhooks + Clock - Private Beta Participants Who Become a QuickBase Private Beta Participant
Code Mode - During this beta, any pipeline created during the first private beta that consisted of the webhooks and clock channels or any new built pipeline in this beta, can use Jinja like our current builder by typing the expressions directly into the fields. Know that when you refresh the page where Jinja was used, code mode will be visible for those entries. (black block).
Step Index (Step ID) - The step index feature (step ID) in the first beta allowed users to view the new syntax of a step ID as channel + step name (i.e. quickbase_create_record). Also, when a step was moved, the step ID was retained.
For Webhooks + Clock participants who had the step indexing feature switch enabled before 12/22/22, this feature switch will remain in place and they may have the following pipelines step ID and move experience:
- Step IDs of new pipelines created during beta - channel + step name
- Step IDs of existing pipelines where a step was added - mix of steps with a-z and channel + step name, with newly added steps taking on channel + step name and all steps retain their ID when moved
- Step IDs of existing pipelines where new steps weren’t added but moved - Steps with a-z and step ID is retained when moved
Note: The Step Indexing feature enabled for some during Webhooks & Clock private beta will not be enabled for new participants in this Quickbase channel private beta.
