With Quickbase you can use an instance separate from the Quickbase US instance for your data residency concerns. For example, if your data needs to meet an EU data residency, you could use the Quickbase EU instance. This article discusses the instances currently available at Quickbase.
Quickbase EU
If you just need GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliance, use Quickbase US because it is GDPR compliant, since GDPR compliance does not require data to be resident (stored on disk) in the EU.
If you have a specific regulatory requirement aside from GDPR, or a strong business preference to have your data resident in the EU, consider Quickbase EU, but first talk to your account representative to make sure that Quickbase US can't meet your needs.
We cannot provide a legal opinion on the appropriateness of Quickbase for your use case, but can explain Quickbase's attestations.
If you decide that you need Quickbase EU, remember that Quickbase EU is completely independent of Quickbase US. Applications, data, and accounts cannot be shared, moved, transferred, or copied between instances. Please read this article carefully and consult with your account representative with any questions.
Quickbase EU – the Basics
The EU instance has a different Domain Name (i.e., customer.quickbase.eu) and is entirely Hosted in EU - Amazon AWS in Europe-Frankfurt Region and Google GCP (for Pipelines) in Europe-Belgium Region. Note that all emails come from notify@quickbase.eu
This instance can be used for new accounts and customers who do not yet have Quickbase applications.
Hosting and Security
Quickbase EU meets the same stringent security, availability, and compliance standards as Quickbase US as outlined in our Trust Center.
- Meets the same rigorous controls and standards as US instance. See Trust Center and Security and Compliance for more details.
- Availability and uptime is reported out on https://service.quickbase.com/. Users will see which instance is affected.
- The same sub-processors are used as in Quickbase US. Learn more on our sub-processors page.
Capabilities
- With some exceptions, Quickbase EU has most of the same publicly supported features as Quickbase US that are Generally Available (GA). Management
To meet the highest standards of security and privacy, Quickbase US and Quickbase EU are 100% independent from each other.

- Accounts, applications, and billing entitlements cannot be shared between instances.
- There is no method or support for transferring accounts, applications, data, or users between instances.
- Quickbase EU accounts must be configured by Quickbase staff.
