If you're setting up roles and want to test them, you'll want to create multiple user profiles connected with your account (using only one email address). A user profile is a separate user name. You can log into Quickbase under the profile's user name instead of your original user name. Just create additional profiles and assign your roles to each one to see how your role restrictions will affect different users.
If you do set up multiple user profiles, then you need to specify which user name is the main profile that Quickbase should associate with your email address. The user name you specify becomes your default account. Whenever you or another Quickbase user enters your email address (for example, when you sign in or when someone shares an application with you), this is the profile that Quickbase will use.
To create an additional user name:
-
Click the user dropdown on the Global bar, then click My preferences.
-
In the My User Information section, click Manage multiple user accounts.
-
In the paragraphs that explain user accounts in the center of the screen, click register with a new user name.
-
Fill out all the fields, then click Register. Quickbase sends you an email so you can register your new account.
-
Open the email and click the link provided to register your new account.
-
Type your password to sign in to Quickbase.
Note: In the future, if you want to refer to one of your additional accounts, you must use its user name.
