Subscriptions and reminders have recipient limits based on your Quickbase service plan.
-
The total number of possible subscription and reminder recipients that you may have on a single table is equal to three times the number of users on your Quickbase service plan.
-
The maximum number of possible recipients a single subscription can have is equal to three times the number of users on your Quickbase service plan.
When one or both of these limits are reached, Quickbase sends an email to app admins. The email informs them that some of their email notifications may not have sent.
This article helps you understand what limits you are hitting and how to determine which emails were sent.
Determine how you’re hitting the limit
There are three different ways you may have hit the recipient limit for subscriptions and reminders.
1. Single subscription or reminder exceeds the recipient limit
If a single subscription or reminder has more recipients than three times the number of users on your Quickbase service plan, you receive an error email indicating that you exceeded the limit.
In this case, subscriptions or reminders do not send.
The email you receive about the limit contains the exact numeric value of the limit.
2. Total number of recipients across all subscriptions and reminders on the table exceeds the limit
If the total number of recipients across all your subscriptions and reminders on that table is greater than the limit, you receive an error email informing you that you’ve exceeded the limit.
In this case, subscriptions and/or reminders are sent to the intended recipients, even though you are exceeding your plan limit.
3. Single subscription or reminder exceeds the limit AND there are additional subscriptions or reminders that exceed the limit when considered altogether
In this case, a single subscription or reminder exceeds the recipient limit, and you also have additional subscriptions and/or reminders set up that do not exceed the limit on their own, but do exceed the limit when considered altogether.
When this happens, emails that exceed the recipient limit when considered on their own do not send. Other emails that only exceed the limit when considered with all others on the table do send.
How to avoid the recipient limit
If you are receiving error emails about recipient limits for subscriptions and reminders, you can do two things:
-
Edit recipient lists so that the total number of recipients for all subscriptions and reminders on the table is less than your limit.
-
Contact your Quickbase account executive to make changes to your service plan. This will increase the limit.
