If your application manager has created a file attachment type field in your application, you can easily upload a file.
To upload a file to an empty field:
-
Create or edit the record containing the file attachment field.
-
To the right of the file attachment field, click the Choose File button.
-
Browse to and select the file you want to post, then click Open. The file attachment field temporarily displays the location of the file you chose.
Note: The size limit for file attachments is 100 MB.
-
Click Save to save changes to the record. The file attachment is shown as a link, which you can click to view the file. If you want to replace it, you must edit the record.
Tip: If you've posted an image file, you can display the picture instead of a link to it (on a display form only). To do so, just access the field properties of your file attachment field and select the Show .jpg, .png and .gif files as images in forms checkbox.
Upload a new version of an existing file
If you've downloaded a file and made changes, you can easily upload the new version and attach it to the same record.
To upload a new version of an existing file:
-
Create or edit the record containing the file attachment field.
When you edit a record, the file attachment field displays with additional options.
-
Click Choose File.
-
Browse to and select the file you want to post, then click Open.
The file attachment field displays the location of the file you chose. -
Click Save to save changes to the record.
Quickbase replaces the previous file with the file you selected. However, the program usually saves the file you replaced (along with previous revisions) behind the scenes. Read more about versioning.

If you reserved the document, release the reservation.
